Phantom of the Opera...

if you can only watch 1 show... make this the one show that you watch... indeed... Phantom of the Opera is soo000OOOOOO good... MARVELLOUS... FANTASTIC... BRAVOMISSI...

wat enchanting music~ wat breathtaking props and settings~ wat powerful voices~ wat amazing effects~ who would have tot of such ways to present the scenes??

favourite parts:
1. the beginning part when the flashback started. the moment they pull off the cloth covering the chandelier, the fire boomed and the music of Hannibal penetrate the air.. * Deng........ Deng deng deng deng deng~* the anticipation of a great story of the phantom builds with the music... together with the music, is the uncover of the life-like statues of pillars... they used gold pillars to represent the grand theatre of the Paris Opera House where many great performances have lived before... the figures seem to be yearning to dance in the music... oO.. how i wish i can put the music down in words...

2. the mirror that is also the entrance to the secret hiding place of the phantom...
the clever use of lights also( but i manage to see the light at the bottom left of the mirror) ;D

3. the stage effects... when the phantom kills Joseph Buquet by strangling him on the stage when a ballet is being performed below... they could have jolly well made use of the change of scenes, or made use of the side stage.. wat they did was cleverer than this.... they made use of shadows of the phantom killing him... so while ppl might be unaware, the shadow shows the phantom's cruelty rather than merely implying it by dropping the body of Buquet...

4. the usage of stage lightings to cast the eerie atmosphere after the phantom found out that christine and raoul went to the rooftop to exchange the promises of their love for each other... the black and white of the dancers is the transition back to the actually scene of the stage... especially when they walk out of the area, their dresses became colourful again... what were the implications of these effects?? hmmm..

5. the chemistry between the phantom n christine... even though christine and raoul are suppose to be lovers, it seems that christine has better chemistry with the phantom instead.. by the mo-qi that they have when they sing duet... (in the moive, i like the love scene on the roof between raoul and christine.. but in this play, one of my fav scene is the duet between phantom and christine and mr daae's grave) the way that christine was hypnotised by phantom's voice... oo... it was so real... i was simply enchanted by the scene as well...

6. the last part when the phantom made sacrifice to let his love go after the kiss of, i'd say companionship that christine gave... such pain of the phantom was shown by his body movement... the way that he walked... as if that decision have killed him already.. which i guess, it had... his voice, his angel of music is gone forever... (i cried at that part.. but wat can i say, such brillant portrayal of the phantom by this great broadway actor, brad little)

hmmm... of course that are so much more things that i can say abt this play... phantom of the opera, the show that u have to watch,,, n if i have the money, i would definitely want to watch it for the second time, third time... if only i can engrave the memory of it in my mind forever...
