My # # Birthday (I)

"How old are you?"
"Seventeen," he answered promptly.
"And how long have you been seventeen?"
His lips twitched as he stared at the road. "A while," he admitted at last.

It's my 20th birthday again and as part of the QLX tradition, we met up to celebrate :) Thanks to cy, we did something different this year at the Science Centre, and got to know our body and the environment better. The last time I went Science Centre was, about a decade ago. It could be the company, or that this is not the usual school trip that forced us to visit, this Science Centre outing was the best experience I had.

I must also mention the cake that they prepared. It's a chocolate cake from Polar Puffs and Cakes with a unique and pretty surface:

What can I say but that my friends knew me best? :) To receive a Hello Kitty birthday cake at this tender age before being an adult figure to others, is the best reminder that we ought to treasure time as it flows away like the stream.

I really enjoyed myself today. From the visit to the Science Centre, to cutting the pretty cake, to receiving appropriate and suitable gifts, to playing mahjong (and losing money) with my 好姐妹. The time spent together is the most valuable gift the money cannot buy.

At the emotional moment when cutting the cake, I thought, "Wouldn't it be just wonderful if we can still maintain this tradition when all of us have wrinkled hands and rounded figures and kids who are going through life and we are right now?"

Adults always say that the best times to make friends are your schooling days. I am glad that I had not waste a moment of my youth to get to know these gals who all hold a special place in my heart. Someone once said that friendship is not something that we measure by quantity but by quality. On this beautiful Sunday, I have to agree once again that it is so, very true.

I love you, QLX!
